We are the University of Florida's American Sign Language organization, serving to bridge the Deaf and hearing worlds. Signing Gators aims to educate students and community members on topics relating to Deaf culture and American Sign Language (ASL) and provide opportunities to interact with Deaf or hard-of-hearing people, such as guest speakers from the local Deaf community.
We typically alternate hosting biweekly Silent Chats Thursdays at 6:00 PM at The Hub and biweekly meetings throughout the Fall and Spring semesters. All are welcome to join, regardless of ASL fluency. We aim to both teach basic ASL, and improve existing skills in the language.
